I was required to use this book for class. The new 2016 MLA Update is extremely helpful.The new design of the book doesn't just have a spiral to keep it together, but has an additional piece of plastic running on what would be the book's spine to keep it together, which is extremely beneficial so that at the end of the term the spiral hasn't unwound.The content of the book is also helpful. Although I knew a lot of the information and some of it seems a bit wordy, the content that I did not know was helpful. Would recommend.
I don't know why I just bought this book. I should have used this when I was in undergrad. Very helpful!
I can't "love it" because it's a writing manual for university classes, and who loves those??? However, it is the best writer's reference manual out there.
This has been very helpful, especially for grammar worksheets. The book explains grammar concepts in detail, providing multiple examples. The sections on MLA, Chicago, etc. are excellent and provide examples for bibliographies, works cited pages, in-text citations, etc. Very useful for any English course.
My college instructor recommended this book and I was impressed with it. Great reference book for improving your writing skill. I highly recommend it.
Every college freshman needs this book. I took AP English courses in high school but this book is helpful to me. You will learn how to do different types of formatting and how to make the most efficient paper. Even small things like P.O.V. and number shifts can become clearer to you for editing your paper. You wont ever need to go to the writing center after you study this material.
This book could be more user friendly, but it is very up-to-date & has all the requirements for writer's in need of a reference guide. I've held onto this book & still use it today while in Graduate school & know that I will continue to use it through my doctoral program in the future. Perfect for high school students as well as college students! Just make sure to keep up with current editions.
The best description of different writing styles. Very helpful if you have to jump between MLA and other styles.
