Very well written and interesting book about the apostles and the relationship to the growth of Christianity and the Catholic Church
For me this was an eye-opening introduction to the men who walked with Jesus and carried out his mission to build the Church after his Ascension. There was so much more to them than what we hear on Sunday and it was wonderfully told here, including the real story of Thomas, of whom much more can be said than that he doubted.
His book helped me to focus on the early church with its growing pains and triumphs. Raymond Arroyo recommend this book.

If you think the apostles and early church was full of heroics, you'd be correct. But to think they were one dimensional holy rollers" you'd be wrong. Very inspiring book.
Based on the title and the summary I thought it would cover the ministry of each of the apostles based on scripture and tradition. I expected it would deal with the apostolic age like F.F.Bruce New Testament History. A good book but not what I was expecting.
It's light reading that is a pleasant way to pass some idle hours; if you're lucky enough, like me to have some. The chapters are short, and the analysis skin deep. Take and read and enjoy.☺
